We made the decision to cook for Pickles and Tofu, when we realised how they would benefit from just eating like the way an animal should. Tofu was ridden with rashes all the time, no matter which commercial food we changed to. And when we finally found a formula that was easier on her skin with less rashes, she also quickly developed a strong doggy odour, and bulky stool. Pickles had no food allergy, however, she had severe malassezia systemic infection and after a period of time on real food diet, she had shown improvement in her skin condition.
Even for a healthy dog, commercial dog food is loaded with chemicals, fillers, preservatives, unknown protein sources and many other unimaginable stuff that consumers would never have thought of feeding to their beloved pets.
